Set chat thread retention for each Knowledge Agent

Knowledge Agent owners can now set how long chat threads are kept, per agent. Choose anywhere from 1 to 90 days, counted from the last message or from when the thread was created. You will find the setting in the agent’s Guardrails section.

If you own a Knowledge Agent and answer security or data retention questions, this is for you. Nothing changes unless you change it. Every agent keeps the existing behavior of 90 days since the last message.

Deletion is permanent, so set this deliberately. Each agent has its own setting, which lets you keep a shorter window on an agent that handles sensitive questions and leave others as they are. This pairs with last week’s DLP masking for user input.

Open an agent’s Guardrails section and review the current retention setting. If you want to try a shorter window, start with a test agent first.
